From Interstate 81 in Virginia, take exit 247 onto US 33 west at Harrisonburg. Follow US 33 west for 56 miles to a signed left turn onto County Road 33-4. Bear left at the junction with County Road 6. The road becomes Forest Road 112. Follow it to the ridge crest where you take a right on Forest Road 104 and follow it to the summit. Access from Interstate 79 is gained by following US 33 east from exit 99 to the signed turn just north of Judy Gap.
